Uganda’s footballing future takes center stage as the U17 National Team, affectionately known as the Cubs, reveals its provisional squad for the 2024 AFCON U17 Zonal Qualifiers. Under the guidance of Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo, a carefully curated team of 35 young talents has been assembled, showcasing a blend of skill, determination, and raw potential. Drawn from Uganda’s top academies and schools, along with a standout player honing his craft in England, the squad represents a beacon of hope for the nation’s football dreams.

Anchoring the team is a formidable defense featuring standout players like Ssemakalu Sudais of Soltilo Bright Stars and Kigoye Ronald from Vipers SC JT. These defenders, renowned for their discipline and tenacity, promise to form a rock-solid backline. The midfield is equally impressive, with talents such as Murungi Elton from Latifah Mixed SS and the versatile Magala Isima Mulala of Masaka Sunshine FC.
