The 26th African Women’s Handball Championship in Kinshasa marks Uganda’s long-awaited return to the continental stage, their first appearance in over four decades since competing in 1974, 1976, and 1979. Uganda’s national team is ready to rekindle its legacy, opening its campaign on November 28, 2024. Drawn into a competitive Group B alongside Africa’s heavyweights—Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Tunisia, Guinea, and Cameroon—the team faces a formidable test of their mettle. Group A features Congo, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Cape Verde, and Kenya, underscoring the championship’s elite nature.
