The 2024 Eastern Africa University Games kicked off on Monday at Maseno University, with Uganda’s top universities, Kampala University, IUIU, and Makerere University Business School (MUBS), making a strong impression on the opening day.
Kampala University’s Mixed FortunesKampala University suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to IUIU in the opening fixture of Group B. Tamubula Ismail scored the only goal in the second half. However, Kampala University bounced back in their second match, defeating hosts Maseno University 1-0, courtesy of Lakomakech Bill’s first-half goal.

MUBS Makes a Strong Statement
MUBS secured four points in their opening two matches of Group D, beating University of Dodoma (Tanzania) 1-0 and playing to a 1-1 draw against Uganda Christian University (UCU). Mbabazi Worrick Joe scored the winning goal against the University of Dodoma.
